			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You may have heard of the famous Anthony Robbin&#8217;s firewalk. ¬†I heard of it since 12 years ago and always wanted to do it. ¬†I was of course curious of how ordinary people can walk on hot coals. ¬†How can it possible?</p>
<p>On Saturday 2/4/12, I had an opportunity to participating in a¬†firewall¬†event that was hosted by Vincent Kelsey in Honolulu. ¬†During the event, we had the opportunity to walk across fresh broken glasses, to break an arrow pointing directly at your neck and to walk over hot coals.</p>
<p>I am happy to say that I did all three and am still alive sharing with you the experiences. ¬†Prior to doing it, doubts and thoughts are generated in the head (i.e. you will hurt your feet, it will burn, arrow will break through your skin..etc) that created the anxious feeling. ¬†I was a nervous at first just like everything that we do in life for the first time. ¬†Here are key elements that helped me complete the challenges:<br />
1) Be present with the moment: fear is the anticipation of future pain, being present allows us to eliminate the fear<br />
2) Positive self talk: i told myself quitely &#8220;I can do this&#8221;, &#8220;I am stronger than the fear&#8221;, &#8220;One step at the time&#8221;, &#8220;Feel the experiences&#8221;<br />
3) Trust: trust that I have the¬†strength¬†to do it, trust that there is limitless¬†possibility, trust that I CAN DO IT<br />
4) Decision: I made the decision to do the challenges even before arrive to the workshop. I believe that clarity is power, just do it!</p>
<p>I learned many lessons that day. ¬†One main thing i got out was that in our mind the fear(s) we create are a lot more worse that what it actually is. ¬†The¬†negative¬†thought(s) that we created in our head can be exhausting. ¬†This is what i normally tell my students &#8220;Focus on what you suppose to do instead of focus on what you not suppose to do&#8221;. ¬†Energy flows where our attention goes. ¬†Fear is a normal emotion for a human being. ¬†It is okay to have the rational fear; it keeps us safe. However, if fears are holding us back in life, perhaps we can accept the fact that they are there instead of judging ourselves for them and then we can make the decision what to do about them. In this case, I recommend that we face them. How we do overcome fear is up to the individual. There are so many ways to deal with fear.</p>
<p>As far as long term solutions, you can rid of fear using NLP, EFT, TFT, NAET, etc. ¬†Base on my personal experiences, EFT is one of a very powerful tools that can help you get rid of long term fear. With EFT, I was able to help clients eliminate a more than 10 years old fear of height, flying, etc in less than 45 minutes. ¬†Short term, one of the way to grow more is to do something uncomfortable, out side of our comfort zone on a regular basis. ¬†Walking across broken glasses and hot coals was one of my way of getting out of my own comfort zone. ¬†How about you? 		<description><![CDATA[So I have been using that sentence for quite a while.  I have said it to clients, students and gymnasts on a regular basis. I even had it print on the back of my business card to reinforce the importance of it.  It is a philosophy that I am working on every day.

During my reflection time for 2012, I've come to realize that there are certain things that I did not take actions step for.  One of those items is to consistently writing this blog.  My excuses were that: English is my second language, my writing is not PERFECT, people will judge me for my writing,  i rather be at the beach surfing than writing....and the list went on and on.  I also realized that even though writing is not my favorite hobby, however I love to communicate and share with people my learning journey. I enjoy impacting someones life directly and indirectly.  I told myself that I had two choices:]]></description>

I enjoy impacting someones life directly and indirectly. ¬†I told myself that I had two choices: 1) is to let all my excuses get to me and not do anything and give up the gratification of sharing my learning to people or 2) is to not let perfect be the enemy of good and to take the little action step and make something happen.</p>
<p>I may not have the perfect writing, perhaps spelling sometimes (especially if the computer misses it <img src='http://www.stretchyourpotential.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> ). ¬†However, I believe i have the right intention and purpose. ¬†I could have waited until my writing to be perfect to start however I made a choice to be who I am and to be consistent with my purpose. ¬†I am teaching and learning a life without judgement, guilt and¬†embarrassment. ¬†This is one of my ways to implement my teaching/learning. ¬†So here is one blog that I didn&#8217;t spend a¬†ridiculous amount of time to have someone edit or to to sugar coat to make it LOOKS really good. ¬†It is not the purpose of it. ¬†I am here sharing with you that what I did was taking a step to do it. ¬†I learned that don&#8217;t wait for it to be perfect to do it. ¬†At least now I am writing the very first blog of 2012.</p>
<p>So for you, what is the action step you can take for some project that you have been putting off? Whether to loose weight, to learn a new hobby, to start a new relationship, etc. ¬†Don&#8217;t let the fear, judgement, guilt and embarrassment stop you. ¬†Starting something will create a momentum. I encourage you to start; don&#8217;t be intimidate by the end result. Be inspired by it! trust and enjoy the process.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Every time I am at Alamoana Beach, I keep gazing at the stand up paddleler. ¬†It just looks so much fun. ¬†So I put my intention to the universe that I want to experience SUP without spending a grant for it.Then not so long after I put my intention out there, a student of mine told me about this once a month event at Alamoana Beach hosted by Wet Feet and Blue Planet Surf. ¬†I took the action step and went to the event. ¬†That was fun! This picture was taken from that event. ¬†Because of that action step I took, I realize that SUP is not for me to do on regular basic, I evolved my hobby to surfing. ¬†And i have to say, surfing at Waikiki is a blast. ¬†Thorough this experience, I learned that you will only know what is for you when you take the action step. ¬†Taking action is worth more than 100 years of thinking. ¬†So I encourage the reader to take action as much as you can. ¬†Have a great day!</p>
